'BIODIESEL' is a domestically produced, renewable fuel made from vegetable oils. Even though 'diesel' is part of its name, there are no petroleum or other fossil fuels in biodiesel. It can be used in any diesel car, van, truck, HGV or generator with no modifications. It blends seamlessly with standard petroleum diesel in any quantity. So, if your car currently has half a tank of diesel purchased from the garage or forecourt, you can simply top this up with BIODIESEL and your car will  run exactly same..... but with extra benefits!!

The fuel produced by Northumbria Biodiesel is made from freshly pressed rapeseed and recycled cooking oil, gathered from the 'Northumbria' region.

In the past decade, biodiesel has been gaining worldwide popularity as an alternative energy source because of its many benefits. Besides the cost reduction benefits, this environment-friendly fuel reduces exhaust emissions, visible smoke and noxious odours. Because biodiesel is non-toxic, biodegradable and non-flammable, handling and storage are safer than conventional petroleum diesel fuel.

Northumbria Biodiesel advocates the use of biodiesel as an alternative fuel source. As a company we recognise the environmental destruction and wide scale geopolitical instability that our dependence on petroleum fuel brings. We are therefore acting on a need to develop an alternative, domestically produced fuel source which does not harm the environment. By recycling restaurant, chip shop and take-away waste vegetable oil into biodiesel fuel, we are helping to achieve energy independence and sustainability.

Biodiesel is the most cost effective alternative fuel available on the market. Biodiesel will reduce our dependency on foreign oil, create domestic jobs, reduce impacts on our health and the environment, and stimulate the rural economy. Our biodiesel is currently used by several fleets, businesses and private users.
